Sonja Isabel Reuter is a German soprano known for her warm, expressive voice and versatile stage presence. In June 2025, she performed in Tranquilla Trampeltreu / The Lindworm and the Butterfly by Wilfried Hiller and Michael Ende for the Bavarian State Opera at Bergson Kunstkraftwerk Munich. She made her debut at the Bayreuth Festival’s children's opera in summer 2023 as the Second Flower Maiden in a version of Wagner’s Parsifal. In 2021, she appeared in the world premiere of Haut by L. Trojani at the Tischlerei of Deutsche Oper Berlin.
From 2022 to 2025, she has been a member of the ensemble at the Theater für Niedersachsen in Hildesheim. There, she has sung key roles including Pamina (Die Zauberflöte), Mimì (La Bohème), Micaëla (Carmen), Rosalinde (Die Fledermaus), and Sleeping Beauty (Dornröschen by E. Humperdinck). In summer 2025, she returns to the stage as Pamina at the Eutin Festival.
Sonja Isabel Reuter received numerous awards and scholarships for her singing. She was awarded the young musicians prize of the Richard-Wagner-Association Leipzig in 2018, and visited the Bayreuth Festival as winner of said prize. She was also selected for scholarships by the Giovanni Omodeo-Stiftung, the Oscar und Vera Ritter-Stiftung as well as the Bernt Rohrer Stiftung.
In summer 2022, the young soprano from Frankfurt completed her Master's degree at the Hanns Eisler School of Music Berlin with distinction. She had been studying voice and music theatre since 2014 at the Franz Liszt University of Music in Weimar, and from 2018 in Berlin in the class of Prof. Dr. M. Lanskoi.
She has also been artistically shaped by masterclasses with, among others, KS Brigitte Fassbaender, KS Edita Gruberová, as well as Helen and Klaus Donath.
